How to Calculate the Dimensions of POF Heat Shrink Film?

POF heat shrink film is a material widely used in packaging products for sales and transportation, primarily for securing, covering, and protecting the packaged items. Do you know how to calculate the dimensions of heat shrink film? Let's discuss it.

The design principle of heat shrink film is based on the stretching orientation of polymer chains and rapid cooling technology. During the packaging process, when the item is heated, the stress relaxation of the molecules causes them to rearrange, leading to a shrinkage effect. Currently, there are various types of heat shrink films available in the market, such as PE, PVC, OPS, POF, and PET.

When packaging items, the first step is to calculate the circumference based on the dimensions of the item to be packaged, then convert it to the diameter (diameter = 1/2 circumference), and enlarge the diameter as needed. By referring to the specifications of the POF heat shrink film from the manufacturer, choose the appropriate film, cover it over the item, heat it at the proper temperature (generally between 100℃-160℃, for 6-10 seconds), and the packaging process is complete. For products packaged in heat shrink bags, the width and length of the bags need to be determined based on the product dimensions, leaving appropriate margins. Finally, seal the product in the bag, and use a heat gun or shrink tunnel for processing to complete the packaging process.

The method for calculating the dimensions of heat shrink film is a crucial step, whether for packaging products or making heat shrink bags. It is essential to accurately calculate based on the product dimensions to ensure packaging effectiveness and product quality.
